Now you've got me in the mood for NYC noir. A fascinating thing about the opening of The Naked City, by the way, is that the city is much less vertical, with far fewer skyscrapers. Almost looks like downtown Chicago.Terry at Blue Kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13504693954312787975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6416851791929242085.post-11753259859732627332009-12-07T14:06:04.633-05:002009-12-07T14:06:04.633-05:00I've always wondered if people ever recreated ...I've always wondered if people ever recreated NYC movie scenes on their home video camera, starring themselves. Like 'The Way We Were' in front of The Plaza and others. Scenes that are short and memorable.Tom Bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6416851791929242085.post-91956697057002327612009-12-07T06:25:13.913-05:002009-12-07T06:25:13.913-05:00I saw the quintessential Big Apple classic Breakfa...I saw the quintessential Big Apple classic Breakfast At Tiffany's just last week - albeit, on stage, and in London. No real NYC scenes of course, but lots of beautiful classic Big Apple backdrops made the context come alive, even on stage. This post just took me back there. :)Shilpa Bhatnagarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15971456418692561039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6416851791929242085.post-74406708477678095802009-12-06T20:03:40.983-05:002009-12-06T20:03:40.983-05:00It just doesn't get better than that!It just doesn't get better than that!Laura S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10986615334883139501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6416851791929242085.post-30183413547477148062009-12-06T19:00:17.427-05:002009-12-06T19:00:17.427-05:00Thanks again, Laura S., for reading WOTBA. I enjoy seeing real location shoots and these early ones are particularly interesting. Thanks again for all you do. I follow your blog regularly. I live in NJ now but love to come into the city regularly and walk around. Maybe we have passed each other in the Village.Laura S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10986615334883139501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6416851791929242085.post-35520201398625760632009-12-06T17:55:54.343-05:002009-12-06T17:55:54.343-05:00Hi Laura S. The films go very well together, I think, and for New Yorkers, show parts of the city that are either gone or are slowly fading to black.Teri Tyneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18304387840586756126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6416851791929242085.post-50248408797481411002009-12-06T17:31:53.816-05:002009-12-06T17:31:53.816-05:00Thanks so much for this list. I also added Killer's Kiss and Pick up on South Street. I love all films that are filmed in NYCLaura S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10986615334883139501noreply@blogger.com
