Coming This Week on the Garbo Walks Miniseries

Following Greta Garbo's footsteps this week may well send me to a date with a podiatrist. Suffice it to say that you can look forward to the following posts over the next few days. I'm not sure of the order:
  • The Grand Hotels of Mid-Town (and lesser hostels)
  • The Dead End on E. 53rd St.
  • Into the Modern Skyscraper (Mies, Breuer, SOM, Johnson - the gang's all here)
  • Madison Avenue & a Tangent About Andy
  • Walking Without an IPod and a Cell Phone
  • Strolling Through the Presidencies of Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, and Bush I (or, Garbo's 35+ years as an American flâneuse)
I'll also plot these walks out on a Goggle map, but I think it's going to look like a big modernist swirl. I look forward to telling you all about it. Did you know that brunch at the Waldorf=Astoria costs $85 per person? Did you know that the proper name of the hotel requires a double hyphen?
